The Thursday Group (January 2026)

Meeting since the start of 2023, The Sunday Group and The Monday Group each have their own rich history. Our Zoom gatherings have set the stage for friendships that exist across different times zones, countries, and continents. Leading these two groups, I've had a front-row seat and been able to participate in countless moments of vulnerability, laughter, and connection. And the good stuff isn't limited to Zoom. Each crew has a group text that never seems to sleep, lots of folks have met in-person, and there just might be a wedding coming up.

I rarely promote these groups or make noise about them publicly, because open spots are rare. Each month's crew is made up of eight people plus me. When someone decides to move on or take a break, there's almost always a past participant who is happy to return. At the same time, I'm seeing article after article about the current loneliness epidemic and it makes me want to find a way for more people to experience the magic of connection. What if these weekly conversations could be part of the solution?  

For all of the reasons I just mentioned, I'm thrilled to introduce The Thursday Group! And in a twist I'm super pumped about, this new group will be led by someone other than me. That someone is my friend Emma Kuehnle, who I first met in a one-off small-group conversation back in 2023. Emma joined The Monday Group later that year, before switching to The Sunday Group in February of 2025. When I first met Emma, she was headed to grad school at East Carolina to become a licensed therapist. Fast forward to today and that's the job she's doing. Emma lives in Raleigh, along with her fiancé Jay. (Do you remember that wedding I mentioned earlier? It can be traced back to when Emma joined The Sunday Group. Yes, Jay and Emma met in Sunday Group and now they're getting married!)

The Thursday Group will meet for the first time on January 15, which is less than a week away! There will be two more meetings after that, on the 22nd and 29th. If you like the idea of making friends, being known, and talking about real things, please consider joining Emma for the start of something special. There are eight spots available. The Thursday Group will meet from 7-10pm ET each week.

Please note: While Emma is a licensed therapist, The Thursday Group is not group therapy. There's certainly common ground, as the hope is to create a supportive safe space where you can practice vulnerability and experience connection, but this should not take the place of therapy. When Emma shows up to lead The Thursday Group each week, she won't be showing up as a therapist.
