BYGONES 20th Anniversary Event #2 (Recording)

We really enjoyed the second BYGONES! Definitely more relaxed and less emotional than the first event. We had an idea of what to expect and so this time around felt very comfortable and grounded. We were once again joined by kind folks from all over and like before we got to answer some great questions.

Renee talked about the last few weeks, what surprised her and what doing these events has meant to her. She shared more about her healing journey and what life looks like now that she’s a mother. My Uncle Mike passed away recently. His death has had me thinking about the relationship between storytelling and story-living. I talked about seeing my family through this lens and how it also relates to the 20th anniversary of the To Write Love on Her Arms story.

Renee Yohe and I first met on February 24, 2006. The five days that followed would end up changing our lives and the lives of people all over the world. As we celebrate two decades of friendship and the 20th anniversary of the "To Write Love on Her Arms" story, we hope that you will join us. 

BYGONES is what we're calling this special online event. It's happening next Thursday, March 12, starting at 8pm ET. (That's 5pm for West Coast folks.) BYGONES will be Renee and I taking turns reflecting on the last two decades—not only the "To Write Love on Her Arms" story but the stories we've lived since. We'll ask each other questions and you'll have the chance to ask us questions too. The format will be Zoom Webinar and the Chat will be open throughout as well. We want this to be interactive and we're excited to hear from you.

The title BYGONES is a nod to the fact that our friendship hasn't been easy. To quote my buddy Propaganda, "It's complicated, but so is a star. A flower, a quasar, a friendship..." The last 20 years have been complicated and perhaps you can relate. It feels rock-and-roll in the best of ways and very full-circle to be showing back up as friends. Life is messy but we get to keep trying. We would love for you to join us.

Ticket purchase gives you access to BYGONES on 3/12. You will receive a Zoom link (via email) on the morning of the event. This will be recorded and we'll send a link to the recording the next day, 3/13.
