WHAT IS HEART CAMP?
HEART CAMP is a two-day workshop led by Jamie Tworkowski. Jamie is the founder of To Write Love on Her Arms and the New York Times bestselling author of If You Feel Too Much. Each HEART CAMP gathering will be a group of 42 people, with Jamie sharing stories, experiences, and passions. Topics will include mental health, authenticity, writing, starting something that matters, and bringing your heart to work. Attendees will be invited to help shape HEART CAMP by giving input on the topics they hope to hear about.
IS HEART CAMP FOR ME?
Have you been inspired by Jamie's work over the years? Are you passionate about mental health? Are you a writer or a speaker? Are you curious about using words to bring encouragement and hope to people? Do you dream of starting an organization or a brand, or are you in the process of starting something? Are you interested in bringing your heart to work and creating positive change? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then we would love to have you at HEART CAMP!
WILL THERE BE ANY SPECIAL GUESTS?
Yes! Tonya Ingram is a six-time poetry slam finalist. Her focus is on the intersectionality of art as healing and art as awareness in the understanding of mental and physical health. She is a New York University alumna, a Cincinnati native, and a Bronx-bred introvert now living in Los Angeles. Tonya's first full-length book of poetry, Another Black Girl Miracle, is available now.
Denny Kolsch is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the co-founder of Peace Club, a community-driven Opioid treatment center in Cocoa Beach, Florida. For the past 10 years, Denny has shared the story of his recovery from heroin addiction. He has dedicated his life to bringing healing to families and communities affected by the American Opioid Crisis.
IF I'M STRUGGLING WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES, COULD HEART CAMP BE HELPFUL?
We want to be sure that HEART CAMP is a healthy environment for everyone who attends. While mental health will be discussed, we will not be providing professional mental health care at this event. If you're currently struggling with mental health issues, our hope is that you will seek professional help. There will be other opportunities to attend HEART CAMP.

WHERE IS HEART CAMP?
HEART CAMP LOS ANGELES will take place at Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City.
12825 Ventura Blvd
Studio City, CA 91604
WHERE WOULD I FLY IN?
LAX is 22 miles away.
Burbank Airport (BUR) is 7 miles away.
WHERE WOULD I STAY? HOW LONG SHOULD I PLAN TO BE THERE?
We recommend you stay at Sportsmen's Lodge, where HEART CAMP is taking place. We've negotiated a special rate of $175 per night for HEART CAMP attendees. HEART CAMP will wrap up by 6pm on Saturday, April 28th. If you want to arrive earlier or extend your stay, you're welcome to take advantage of the $175 room rate. Travel and lodging are not included in workshop cost.
WHAT WILL I EAT?
We will be providing coffee and snacks throughout both days, as well as a special dinner in the hotel's Secret Garden on Friday night.
The hotel has a restaurant and also offers room service. There is a Starbucks and a grocery store across the street. It's L.A. so there are plenty of options when it comes to food.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Whatever you want! We're guessing there will be a few TWLOHA shirts in the room. The event will be inside but Friday's dinner will be served outside, so warm clothes might be a good idea for that. If you run out of clothes or need something warmer, we'll have HEART CAMP merch for sale.
